1. Who is eligible to participate in Aaron’s Presents?
Any boy or girl who is in 8th grade or younger, and lives in the Merrimack Valley or North Shore, MA may apply!
2. Is there an application fee?
No, it does not cost you anything to participate! All we require are your ideas and initiative, so no resources, money or other adult involvement is necessary. We know your parents and teachers already have a lot on their plates, so we provide all of the mentoring, materials and help you need!
3. How long do I have to complete my project?
We ask that your projects be completed within approximately 3 months from when you apply, but if you need more time, tell us how much time you need and why.
4. Can I apply as part of a group?
Yes! Groups are limited to 10 members, and 1 or 2 of those members must serve as the point-people for communicating with Aaron’s Presents. The project should be something that requires a group effort, with each person having a role and responsibility.
5. What if I need help from adults to complete my project?
Every project is assigned an Aaron’s Presents Project Mentor. This person will strive to provide all of the adult help and guidance that you would need. However, if projects require more adult help, your Project Mentor will help you brainstorm who in your life and in our network might be willing to help out as well. If you do ask an adult in your life, the best adult helpers are people who know you, trust you, believe in you, and are excited about your project when you describe it to them. Tell them exactly what specific things you will need their help doing (some examples: completing and submitting the application, driving, researching certain materials), and ask them whether they would be able to commit to doing those things. Don’t worry, as long as you are doing everything that you are responsible for, you will be able to complete your project!
6. How do I receive the money that I need to do my project?
You will not actually receive any money. Instead, Aaron’s Presents will purchase the items or services needed to complete your project for you. In this way, we are able to show exactly how every dollar has been spent for each project. Integrity and transparency are core values at Aaron’s Presents.
7. Can I apply more than once?
Yes, we know that it is possible for kids to have more than one thoughtful idea! We encourage you to apply more than once, but you may only submit one application at any given time so that you are not carrying out more than one project at the same time.
